Thomas D. Waite
Dr. Waite has a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Harvard University and has been a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Florida since 1980. Dr. Waite has taught and done research in Environmental Engineering for over 35 years at the University of Miami, Northwestern University, and Florida Tech. He is currently a Professor and Dean Emeritus of Engineering at Florida Institute of technology. In addition to his university-based scholarship and research, he has had extensive experience in consulting and practicing engineering, both domestically and abroad. He has been a technical environmental expert consultant for: the Pan American Health Organization, the (UN)World Health Organization, the Caribbean Community Secretariat, the (UN)International Atomic Energy Agency, and the (UN)International Maritime Organization. Dr. Waite’s research has focused on innovative technology development in the environmental arena. He helped develop and demonstrate high-valence iron technologies, and high-energy electron beam treatment of water and wastewater.
